Jean Monnet Inter-University Centre of Excellence Opatija in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia, Foundation of the University of Rijeka, Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung and Lions Club Rijeka organises a round table with the topic „It is brave to choose nonviolence“ on 25 March 2013 at the City Hall of the City of Rijeka, starting at 10 a.m. The round table will focus on school and youth violence. Its primary aims are to raise awareness about these issues in the society and to promote tolerance, kindness and other moral values among all members of society, especially youth. Professors from the Universities of Zagreb and Rijeka and the representatives of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia will hold lectures, followed by a public discussion. The Centre is proud to be the co-organiser of the humanitarian concert on the same day under the title “Wanted: A Friend”, the proceeds of which will be used to reward students who contribute to the promotion of nonviolence and/or create preventive programmes for the combat against school and youth violence. The programmes of both events (in Croatian) are attached.
